Citizen Action Sends Out a Misleading Direct Mail Piece Claiming Milwaukee Public Schools Graduation Rate Risen by 38%

Misleading Mailer from Citizen Action claiming MPS Graduation Rate Rose 38 Percent

Just today I got a Direct Mail piece from Citizen Action claiming that under Milwaukee Public School Board member Peter Blewett that his  leadership help raised Milwaukee’s High School graduation rate by 38 percent.   However, Citizen Action of Wisconsin is sending this direct mail piece to distract the truth on the failed agenda of Milwaukee Public Schools.  Under their asterisk they have only mentioned two report cards 2001-2002 and 2007-2008.

The truth, Citizen Action never looked at the whole picture and they are trying to distract the facts away in the Public Instruction Superintendent election that MPS graduation rates increased 38%.  As a whole, Milwaukee Public Schools graduation rate only has risen 9% since from 2001 to 2007.  Citizen Action is sending this direct mail piece during the heat of the election to say things are good to prop up the Evers campaign while right now the Fernandez campaign is putting Evers, WEAC, and the left-wing special interests on the ropes.  Still, since 2003-2004 when the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction changed its reporting formula, Milwaukee’s graduation rate numbers have never increased over 30%.

WEAC and Citizen Action may say job well done, Peter Blewett and MPSon raising the graduation rate, but Citizen Action is lying on the facts and with a high school graduation rate only two/thirds of the Statewide graduation rate, it is a “F” the left gets for misleading the public. 

On April 7th, I encourage Milwaukee voters who want better to change DPI by voting Rose Fernandez.
