Speaking in front of a crowd of activists, Steve Moore of the Wall Street Journal talked about of the economic problems in Washington and Madison at RightOnline Chicago.
As activists had a chance to ask questions, one gentleman told Mr. Moore: “My son works for Catepillar and he has told me they have planned another round of layoffs and if Washington screws around more, his job is in jeopardy.” Another activist has said: “Don’t be surprised you if see unemployment in Illinois drive up to 12%.”
These statements come into light when Mr. Moore had a presentation about showing how the economic policies in Washington are prolonging the current recession. During his presentation, Mr. Moore talked about how other European nations like Ireland who are using Reagan-style economic policies to get their countries back on track especially with Ireland having very low business taxes.
Moore also stated: “We need to get serious about being competitive if we want to get our country moving again.” Moore also stated, “European countries are adopting Reaganomics and we are falling asleep at the switch.”
The statements are part of a growing crowd that are growing more discontent with Democrats in Washington and even at their respective state levels.
