Tonight is the first Governor’s debate from the studios of Today’s TMJ 4 in Milwaukee. North Shore Exponent will be covering tomorrow’s debate. Also, the debate will be scored.
The scoring for tomorrow’s debate will use a 6-5-4-3 scale. Also, bonus points will be awarded in addition to any point deductions. Just because a candidate answers a question does not merit them points alone. The candidates will have to earn the points on the big stage. Here is a description of the scoring system used tonight:
6 Points-Excellent
6 points would be awarded if a candidate answers the question and uses clear details to prove their answers.
5 Points-Good
5 points would be awarded if a candidate answers a question, uses clear details, but may be asked by a panelist or moderator to clarify their points to the audience.
4 Points-Fair
4 points may be awarded if a candidate makes a concerted to answer a question correctly, but is having difficulty to substantiate their talking points.
3 Points-Average
3 points may be awarded if a candidate answers a question correctly, but fails to substantiate their points of emphasis.
Points will be not awarded on a question if a candidate does the any of the following:
- Evades the panelists/moderators question.
- Speaks out of turn to attack an opponent.
- Unsportsmanlike conduct.
- Uses repeated clichés.
Also, points can be deducted to a candidate for the following:
-2 Points-Talks out of turn to attack opponent.
-3 Points-Unsportsmanlike Conduct.
-4 Points-Flagrant Misconduct or Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire.
