Last Saturday, was not a good night to watch Badger Football, but as an alumni of the UW-Madison I find it very sickening that some fans are irresponsibly using the new media and telling all the major media outlets in Wisconsin they want to start a drive to fire Bret Bielema and tell all new recruits do not come to Madison and do something like recruit supression.
After hearing the news of Dustin Sheerer is finally going to start, more than likely, I saw a lot of the comments on the JS Online Badger Blog and this attitude created by the Fire Bret Bielema Blog to start rumors around Madison and around Wisconsin to destroy the crediblity of Bret Bielema. First, I want to say shame on you to the Fire Bret Bielema bloggers for clogging up the media with a false, senseless idea to irresponsibly use the new media. This is basically pure, stupid partisan bickering over three tough losses, one to Michigan we should won, an competitive Ohio State game, and Penn State in which Evridge was horrible. Jeff Portrykus of the JS Online Badger Blog is doing the right thing to get the garbage off the comments section. Fans have a right to their opinons, but when its something this emotional like football and dropping from 3 and 0 to 3 and 3 the old media cannot trust the new media to convey an emotional message to fire Bret Bielema or supress recruits. Also, add on the band contreversory and this has not been a good three weeks for Badger football. Personally, during my time in Madison I have known players who have not just been good friends on the football, hockey, and women’s volleyball teams, but they have treated me like they are part of their family like I treat them as my extended family of brothers and sisters. Knowing these athletes, and as a blog, the North Shore Exponent is calling on the Fire Bret Bielema blog group to drop its recruiting suppression campaign, two from Appleton to Madison to Whitefish Bay we are all fans of the Badgers win or lose, but it makes me sick when times get tough than fans turn to partisan bickering to destroy one another. Come on, this is not football’s version between Barack Obama vs. John McCain, this is real college football, and I call on Badger Nation to come together as one to support Dustin Sheerer on Saturday as the Badgers take on Iowa for the Heartland Trophy.
We know that Change is Finally Coming in Dustin Sheerer, lets get behind this kid, and lets get behind Bret Bielema so we can shut up these undistinguished, dishonorable Fire Bret Bielema bloggers so we can take back our state and our football program this Saturday in Madison.
